    The Person Of The Year

The best person that I know would be Büşra Scherzinger who is actually a designer this year. I would chose her because she does everything she can for poor children all over the world. She is the first and only person in our country that famous for charity. To introduce her, she was born in Istanbul as a child of an Turkish mother and Italian father. She graduated from Yale University's Department of Law and completed her masters degree in New York. Now, she designs different creations for best models of world and donate the money she earns from these fashion shows. Working with the most popular brands of the world such as Victoria's Secret, Oysho and Chanel; she is not one of the richest people in this industry. She says that " People make money to live on and be happy. And, I can survive with standard amount of money and I can only be happy by making somebody happy. So I started the campaign. The best thing I do in my life is designing and I do it for all our children." Scherzinger is my choice of the person of the year because she is aware of what our world's needs. I think other people should support her and they can reach every country in the world.

From Soliloquy to Theater Script

Recently, I had been looking for a tirade so that I can display at my theater club. When I was searching for it on the internet, I found the soliloquy of "Paulina" who is one of the main characters in the play "Death and the Maiden", Ariel Dorfman. The play tells about a woman who had been raped and her husband encountering with the raper after years. As soon as I read Paulina's tirade, I decided to read the whole text because I was fascinated. Reading the whole text and the monologue, I found some points interesting between these two in terms of impressiveness and expressiveness. First, the tirade seemed more intensive to me for the first time I read it although the script itself is also really intensive too. I think, this is because without knowing all the experiences of Paulina, I can create a lot of possibilities of different Paulina's in my imagination. In the text, however, I learned the truths behind the character's words and her past, which limits the character in my fantasy. On the other hand, thanks to the fact that I found out the reasons her behaviors stand for; I discover her inner world, which makes it easier for me to empathize with her and feel her emotions. Moreover, the script made me understand not only Paulina but also other two characters better and I could enter the world where the play takes place. In conclusion, it was enjoyable to read both the soliloquy only and the whole script since both are very impressive and meaningful from different points.

"I wish I knew how to quit you, Facebook." - John GREEN
John Green intimates that he is a Facebook addict and he is not able to quit despite the fact that he wants to give up on it. I do not agree with him not only because Facebook doesn't have such power, but also because of the fact that his quote shows and encourages the weakness of willpower. First, Facebook doesn't have a first degree effect on someone's life to get addicted to because it is a tool to benefit people instead of the fact that it is something people are for. Moreover, it is not like water or air thus we can stay alive without Facebook. Second, even though a person who has fame and as immense number of fans in pursuit of his way is desperate about doing something necessary, he should think what could be the consequences of his saying to receivers, especially younger ones in case it creates bias about the ability to quit Facebook. Seeing it from a famous person's point of view, his fans accept the idea of the fact that Facebook is blessed, which makes it almost impossible to break this habit. On the whole, I don't think quitting Facebook is something challenging, and I do believe the effectiveness of self control contrary to his opinion.
